Dr. Nik Maheran Nik Muhammad is currently an Associate Professor at Universiti Teknologi Mara, Kelantan. Prior to joining UiTM in March 2003, she had 9 years experience with the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia(IRB) and 2 years experience as an Investment analyst at KLSE.

She graduated with a Bachelor in Business Administration (Finance) from University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, USA; Masters in Business Administration from Universiti Utara Malaysia; and Doctor of Business Administration from Universiti Sains Malaysia. Professionally, she is an CITM (Chartered Institute of Taxation Malaysia), IBBM (Institute of Bankers) and CFP (Certified Financial Planner) trade member.

Throughout her career with UiTM, she has taught courses in Taxation, Corporate Finance, Investment, Option and Futures, Financial Analysis, Personal Finance, Management courses, Banking legal and ethics, International Business and etc. at Diploma, Undergraduate and Masters levels. She has also supervised more than 50 BBA research students in the field of Finance and Management. Her research interests are in the area of Finance, Decision- making and Strategic Management.

Nik Maheran also does consultancy and training work. She has conduct training and consultation in the area of financial planning, investment planning and tax planning and Internal Control system and Human resource management for several companies. Furthermore, as an Image Consultant, she has conducted more than 50 seminars and workshops on image building and enhancement and customer service for corporations, government bodies, hospitals and women organizations.
